Psalm 144:3-7

³ Lord, what are human beings^(A) that you care for them,
    mere mortals that you think of them?
⁴ They are like a breath;^(B)
    their days are like a fleeting shadow.^(C)

⁵ Part your heavens,^(D) Lord, and come down;^(E)
    touch the mountains, so that they smoke.^(F)
6 Send forth lightning^(G) and scatter^(H) the enemy;
    shoot your arrows^(I) and rout them.
⁷ Reach down your hand from on high;^(J)
    deliver me and rescue me^(K)
from the mighty waters,^(L)
    from the hands of foreigners^(M)
